Books were scattered everywhere having fallen off the shelves, it was near closing when the earthquake struck. It was impossible that the young blonde woman could reorganize the small bookstore before opening tomorrow unless she stayed all night. She gave up seemingly exhausted and took a seat in her wheelchair breathing deeply as she looked through the front window and towards the setting sun. There was suddenly a loud ringing indicted someone passed through the door.
"I'm sorry we're about to close...ah!" The blonde paused mid-statement and let out scream as she saw a shadowy figure enter the building. She wheeled herself backwards as she tried to distance herself from the black entity that was now inside the bookstore.
"Alice, I won't hurt you. Are you alright? I'm glad to see you got out of the mirror world," a monotone voice tried to show concern for her but was only able to display a limited amount of emotion. Alice's yellow eyes peered through her glasses as she got a better look at the figure and the black rabbit ears it possessed.
"You're not Benedicta...I just talked to her the other day...you must be the other one..." Alice stuttered in fear and was almost in the back room by this point. "Please leave... my brother will be here shortly..." She was trying to sound threatening and completely failing to do so.
"I have a name, it's Scura...look I'll make this quick we can help each other a lot." The shadowy rabbit was still trying to assist her, even though she knew that Alice was frightened of her. "You have the power over mirrors and I was created by one. Do you see what I'm getting at?" She bent over and effortlessly lifted her out of the wheelchair.
"The tamarin monkey told me the same thing and the next thing I knew I was trapped in the mirror world..." Alice tried to flail too little success as she was grabbed by Scura. The rabbit woman could feel time almost pause as she heard that.
"Alice...I'm so sorry, I didn't..." A male voice easily drowned her out and she felt a sharp pain in her cheek all of a sudden.
"Hey, get your hands off my sister!" The flow of time suddenly jerked forward and Scura lost her grip on Alice as she stumbled back. It seems like she was telling the truth as time came to almost a stand still again as Tim wrapped his hands around his sister's waist to make sure he could catch her. Scura took advantage of this as she headed for the door and disappeared into the shadows. Tim was much more concerned about Alice at this point.
"I'm sorry I tried to get here as fast as possible, but there was a lot of traffic because of the earthquake. What a mess, let me clean some of this up at least." Tim knew that Alice would have difficulty getting to the store back to the way it had been before on her own.
"I just want to go home..."
