RESEARCH LOG, YEAR 755, DAY 92

The subject's mental state is degrading rapidly, despite Commodore Highwind's best efforts to bring him back in a timely manner. While at first he was brash and uncooperative, speaking of foreign concepts like "sleeving", seemingly the transfer of a soul between bodies - the splitting of a soul between bodies, in his case - as time goes on he is less and less verbose, and this isn't due to the tranquilizers and various drugs being pumped into his body to keep him compliant.

To the best of my ability to tell, the mind and soul of the original subject is gone, or at least unreachable. Irrelevant, given how little value these models have.

If his capacity to reason and talk degrades much further, we will move on to the next phase.

RESEARCH LOG, YEAR 755, DAY 93

The subject's mind has degraded beyond acceptable use. Additionally, none of our equipment can trace how he imposed his soul over the body's original one, or what keeps him linked to his supposed other bodies. Due to the mental stress, the body is succumbing to its imperfections faster than I'd have liked.

No matter. The subject is being readied for plasmodium injections. The original body will be processed as intended, and I'll dispatch the Commodore to his world of origin once more to see if this results in the effect spreading further up the chain.

RESEARCH LOG, YEAR 755, DAY 94

Plasmodium injections have succeeded. The miasma has been collected and appears no different from the standard variant. Shame, but unsurprising. Our equipment has recorded some manner of signal or energy beaming away, to a far away location, following the process' completion.

Initial hypothesis holds. The Commodore has her orders and is to retrieve a specimen if any manifests. I'm sure she won't mind the vacation if nothing does.
