"While I can't say I'm happy for what happened, I'm glad not everything out there wants to use us as target practice." One of the local officers that had responded to Ordis calling local police to try preventing others from wandering into Tirsiak's little 'hunt.'
Ash found a bench to sit on as he saw paramedics wheel Temulin away. Didn't she have a bird of some sort?He started to try speaking, then fell silent. His body ached. By all accounts it shouldn't, as it had gotten the memo about not actually having been what Tirsiak had injured. "Ordis?" His voice croaked. "Think she'll make it?"
"Probably." Ordis sounded unsure in spite of himself as he spoke into the earpiece Ash wore. "Thanks to that," Ordis's voice glitched for a moment, "INCREDIBLY RECKLESS STUNT," before returning to normal, "you pulled. Ordis is grateful that thing decided to run when it did."
"Me too." Ash's glasses broght up something very similar to an e-mail program so he could compose an after action report to Wolf. The message itself wouldn't be sendable until he was in the mercenary's home-verse,but that could be handled in time. He had to composethisnow while events were fresh. It wasn't a long report, just noting that the job itself was uneventful, but events post-job haveleft his warframe inoperable for several days.
With that done Ash looked up before walking to an open area of the park as the sleek form of his lander shimmered briefly into view just long enough to pull him off the ground and into the capture receptical normally reserved for his warframe. Once he was secure it turned, causing him to stare up at the interrior of the small craft as it flew back to his ship propper.
As he lay there he called up a diagnostics report of his warframe. It was salvagable, but only becaus eof just how altered and interlinked its internals were compared to naturally evolved organ systems. That knife throw would have killed it except, as Alad V once observed, even if he did not quite understand the distinction between Tenno and Warframe at the time, that biologically Warframe internals don't precicely make sense.
He lay there thinking, and would do so for some time after the landing craft docked with the rest of his ship. He took a terrifying risk, and even now his body ached. Eventually he would look to one of the little drones ordis used to clean the insideo f his ship and smile. "I'll be fine Ordis, just... paying for my own recklessness I suppose. If any of the locals try contacting us try cooperating so long as they don't try getting any technology or... Samples. They need," He took a deep breath and held it before exhaling. His chest felt tight for some reason. "They need to understand just what their world is connected to now."
"Understood Operator. Should I monitor in case anything about Temulin's condition?"
"Please." Ash slowly got to his feet to drag himself back to the somatic pod at the back of the liveable areas of his ship. While his warframe was down for repairs... or is it healing? Either way it was only a comfortable chair at this stage, but for now that would have to do.
