Trash Day

The lawyer mages returned after a long day in court to their offices. Johnson & Smith, Attorneys At Law had seen better days, to put it mildly. The vending machines had been cleaned out and worse- their records room that held possibly centuries of records and details had been trashed. They couldn't even tell what was missing.
"And this, Francis, is why you never substitute components in rituals. Instead of a hellhound we got some brainless demoness who clearly trashed everything. All because you thought a lavender-scented candle would 'add atmosphere'." Smith rose from picking up the mangled remnants of a centry-old book.
Richard Johnson, the other senior partner, turned to the sorcerous paralegal. "Frank, as punishment, you're going to take a full inventory of the records room."
The twenty-something junior associate intern just hangs his head, as he knows it's going to take FOREVER.
