Let Sleeping Rabbits Lie

It was the first night that Benedicta had spent in her apartment at Sunset Road for a while. She had reported to Beacon on what happened with Piera and the templars. She couldn't sleep after witnessing several men being killed. She couldn't help but to wonder if she could have handled it better.

The situation with the Aegis Mantle also reminded her what had happened with Shield-Maiden at the church. The girl said that the sigil on Benedicta's arm could only at great cost to herself. Did that mean that she would have to be exorcised? There's no telling what fate the knight might undergo if that happened. She might be damning her soul even further for all she knew.

She also knew that she could be lying but she seemed more sincere than Sybil was. The only way to find out if she was telling the truth was to learn about more about her. She remembers how the girl's gullet had glowed and she had stopped talking. Was she sworn to secrecy? There were so many details about this that didn't make sense to Benedicta as she tossed and turned in her bed. She couldn't stop staring down at the black Celtic knot on her right arm that clearly stood out from her otherwise white fur.

Was she truly stuck like this for the rest of her life?
