To Hero (2/2)

Zoar, the hawk has a name, leads the way toward Castle Grayskull. The jawbridge opening as soon as the hawk explodes out of the trees. Cringer and Orko are not long after it and they race across the bridge and into the Castle.

The Sorceress is standing just inside the threshold. With a wave of her hand and some kind words, "Adam. You must wake up."

Adam's eyes blink open as Cringer peels out from underneath him. "Sorceress?" Adam's confusion stays as he stumbles to his feet. "Where..."

"Welcome to Castle Grayskull." The Sorceress turns to lead the way down the maze of corridors. "Come. We haven't much time."

Adam stumbles after her, Cringer and Orko in tow, holding his side and wondering where some of the pain went.

"The Power of Grayskull has been kept safe, here, by me. For years. Skeletor has sought to make this Power his and since the walls have come down, that threat has become all too real. Eternia, your friends, your family, they are all in grave danger. Especially now that Skeletor can travel amongst the dimensions to do as he pleases. We cannot allow him such a luxury." The Sorceress stands aside as they all reach a room deep within the bowels of Castle Grayskull. "Adam, it is your birthright, your destiny to protect the Power of Grayskull, Eternia, and the Worlds around us from evil."

"Protect? Destiny? What're you talking about?" Adam's exasperated confusion is top notch at this point. "I'm seventeen! How am I supposed to...?"

"With this." The Sorceress stands aside to reveal a case floating in the mystical energy of Castle Grayskull. As Adam approaches it, the case opens itself to reveal the mighty Sword of Power.

"The Sword of Power is yours, Adam. It belongs to you. Only you can truly wield this power the way it is meant to be. Take it and become the hero you were born to be."

Adam blinks away his skepticism as the Sword of Power almost seems to call out to him. He can see the energy surging around the weapon, he can practically feel it as he reaches for the sword. His fingers clasp around the hilt and as the case fades away, the sword hits the ground, almost pulling Adam with it.

"It's heavy."

"Soon to be much lighter in the hands of... He-Man." The Sorceress manages a smug little grin with that response.

Adam narrows his eyes and puts some might of his own behind raising the Sword of Power up over his head. He doesn't know or understand why or how he knows what to do next but it just happens. The words just come out of his mouth.

"By the Power of Grayskull..."
