A Father's Last Words

Samus sat alone, unarmored, in silence in the cockpit of her ship after the mission to the remnants of Severus-VI. It was a sobering moment that had left the Hunter in a stunned silence for quite some time after seeing the Shuzenji-clan head break down and hearing Justina's pained voice over her comms. To find yet another lone survivor floating in the darkness of space for so long.
    [Lady?] ADAM interrupted her thoughts.
"I'm fine." She lied quietly, leaning back in the pilot seat and staring up at the ceiling of the gunship. "I was just rembering what someone said to me..."
    [Care to share?]
    Slowly she shakes her head.
"I was just thinking about my father."
    [Elaborate. Chief Rodney Aran?]
"I don't remember much about him." She admits. "My other father. The one that looked after me when I lived on Zebes."
    [Your adoptive Chozo father, then.]
    The hunter nodded.
"His name was Gray Voice, of the Thoha Tribe." She paused. "I thought he betrayed me at one point but..." She trailed off. Adam opted not to interrupt as she fell into silent reverie remembering the last words her father spoke to her.

"Samus... You have become strong. So strong. Though this will be hard for you, there will be many people in this universe who need your strength... I know that your fate is harsh... You have become strong, my daughter... Be it one or many, I want you to help them. I want you to save them. That is my request."

Slowly, the last daughter of the Chozo let her eyes slide closed while her ship floated aimlessly through space.
