Overview

A universe in which the Galactic Federation, a collection of the governments of the universe into one leading body, maintains the peace; this universe has seen its fair share of conflict. Roving Space Pirates travel from world to world, looting and pillaging colony planets as they see fit, battled by the forces of the Federation and bounty hunters across the galaxy. Over the course of time, several galactic threats have risen from the darkness, putting the whole universe in danger...

The Space Pirates. The deadly parasitic creatures called metroids that the pirates attempted to weaponize. The deadly mutagenic substance known as Phazon. The monstrous X parasites.

But now, Phazon is gone from the universe, the last metroid is dead and the deadly X parasites that ran rampant without their metroid predators are extinct as well. Finally, after the destruction of the planets Zebes, SR-388, and ZDR, the galaxy is at peace.
Integration

The worlds of the galaxy vary in levels of technology, but most of them are spacefarers in nature. With the universe joining and becoming one with the Tree as a Blossom, this puts both the Galactic Federation and The Space Pirates a bit on the spot. Though outwardly the Galactic Federation welcomes the integration, providing new ties for trade and prosperity with new worlds beyond the reaches of the galaxy, there is a shadow faction within the Federation that views the other worlds of the tree with a degree of more than skeptical mistrust. Openly, the Federation and its many and myriad worlds, peoples, and citizens will seek to build new bridges of peace and prosperity, to grow and develop further bonds of peace and unity both amongst themselves and with the worlds beyond. The shadow faction, however, may resort to less than ethical means of keeping a degree of separation between the Federation and the rest of the new worlds.

The Space Pirates on the other hand certainly relish the opportunity to loot and plunder new worlds and planets ripe for the taking. Though the Federation will work to prevent this as much as possible, they simply cannot police outside the bounds of their universe effectively or without incident, leaving the bulk of the work against the Space Pirates to strong and brave bounty hunters.
