The universe is ruled by godlike beings, travelled by those who follow the Star Rail, and visit worlds of varying technology levels, from industrial to future-tech.
Type: BlossomGod-like beings who used to be human. They were Pathstriders until they reached the end of their Path, and ascended to become the force that gives that Path its power. They are bound by various rules, and aren't able or are unwilling to meddle directly in the affairs of the universe.
Those of supreme willpower, or who show traits that an Aeon resonates with can draw a Glance from that Aeon, being granted a sliver of that Aeon's power, or even ascended to become an Emanator of their Path.
Emanators are Demi-gods, subservient to the Aeon of their Path but immensely powerful compared to regular Pathstriders. There are very few Emanators; a handful at most for each path. Some of these could potentially create a new Path and become its Aeon, though that hasn't happened for a long time.
A Path is a way of belief, a way of life and a dedication to a way of thinking that goes beyond religeous or secular beliefs. They follow the wake of the Aeon who created the Path and those who Stride along it glean a tiny measure of that Aeon's power from it. This makes these people superhuman in some way, increased strength compared to baseline, able to shrug off damage, able to heal wounds more effectively, steal life force from an opponent, see weakspots and be able to exploit them, perfect memory recall or the ability to take memories from a target. There are many powers a Path grants and not everyone gets the same ones.
Anyone who walks a Path is a Pathstrider. The Path being strode doesn't matter. Some can walk multiple Paths, such as that of Destruction and Trailblaze. Though the crossovers aren't always compatable, as some Paths are mutually exclusive.
Seeds planted by a certain Aeon(It's not clear what one though likely Nanook the Destruction), these entities are semi-sentient and malevolent in their intent. They seek to disrupt civilisation and cause death and destruction. They also seek to corrupt powerful figures around them with promises of power, granting 'wishes' in a monkey's paw fashion. Stellarons can be suppressed and sealed away by those who know how to disrupt their matrix, but it's impossible to outright destroy one.
