Overview

A world covered primarily by water, with very little land outside of the Red Line - a strip of land stretching across the world - and more islands than you can count. Most of this worlds strife is chalked up to the World Government and the Marines, the worlds peacekeepers, clashing with the worlds many powerful and violent pirate crews. Most pirate crews are in search of One Piece, and both sides of the conflict utilize powers gained from eating the worlds rare, but powerful, Devil Fruit. The seas are split into cardinal directions, with the Grand Line, a challenging patch of ocean to navigate, wrapped around the equator. Because of the Grand Line's notoriously random and dangerous weather patterns, and seas brimming with pirate and government ship alike, this world is nearly impossible to navigate in some areas except for the most powerful and prepared of individuals and crews. Most, if not all, pirates that sail the oceans of this world are in search of One Piece, a mysterious treasure left behind by the previous Pirate King. Ownership of this treasure should, in theory, make the world consider that man the King of the Pirates.
