Overview
Nepgear is the Goddess Candidate of Planeptune, a highly developed nation within the world of Gamindustri. Hypothetically, that means she would be a trainee learning the ropes from her older sister Neptune, in order to assume a position of leadership and protector if the need arises. In reality, she's often been left to self-study in those respects, taking on part time jobs at the local guild, helping with official city duties, and unwittingly being an enabler of some of her sister's worst habits. On her own, she is a capable and instinctive swordswoman as well as proficient, long range gunner, but is prone to lapses in self-confidence when confronted with long odds and initially difficult obstacles. She is also an avid collector and tinkerer of electronics, perhaps the one ill-fitting facet within her otherwise clean, honor student image.
Perks
Goddess: Generally superhuman speed and agility, with some strength and durability.
As an incarnate Goddess of her world, Nepgear's physical traits are beyond those of a typical human being. This enhancement is tied to the faith of the people within her home nation of Planeptune, though even severing her link to them still leaves her above average. While there is some increase to her strength and durability, she favors speed and agility as an all-rounder. She otherwise still has the metabolic needs of a human, if more to remain healthy than to keep from dying.
Purple Sister< Edge >: Channeled divinity to exceed normal limits. A super form with limited flight.
Through the faith of the people of her nation, Nepgear can temporarily bring aspects of her divine form into her mortal body. This manifests primarily in the armor that forms around her, called Processors in local terminology, as well as transforming any weapon she happens to be wielding into a hybrid blade and heavy beam rifle. While transformed in this way, her physical traits are enhanced even further, and she is able to hover. Use of this form exhausts her quickly, and is accordingly reserved for critical moments or when facing particularly difficult situations. It's further limited by requiring access to her world and nation; distance matters little, but if travel is completely impossible through some means, such as being in a Bud world, the faith it requires can not reach her.
Fencing: The use of one-handed blades, primarily for rapid, targeted strikes.
Nepgear is skilled in the use of one-handed swords, ranging from light to moderate heft, and can capably wield Eastern and Western style blades, with both being in common use within her world. In motion, her tendency is to rapid and targeted strikes, able to employ flurries of attacks while waiting for an opening to deal a finishing blow. Some of her techniques also seem based on quick draw principles, where the blade is drawn and attacks in a consequent, fluid motion to mask its approach.
Hybrid Gunner< Edge >: The talent to weave beam weapon attacks into sword techniques.
At times, Nepgear can blend beam gun attacks into her normal sword strikes, in order to further disrupt an opponent's evasion or strike a target beyond her normal range. Doing so strains the envelope of her capability while in human form, though becomes significantly more natural while she is Purple Sister, and does not require further use of Edge for the duration of that form.
Weapon Space: A way to conveniently store weapons when not in use.
Nepgear can manifest and dismiss weapons at will, though it is limited to two blade or rifle-sized objects at a time, so isn't much of a personal armory. While not corporeal, objects stored in this space exist in a digital, energy format.
Gadget Guru: The ability to quickly figure out electronic devices, and improvise new ones.
An enthusiast of all kinds of technology, especially robots and handheld gizmos, Nepgear can rapidly (and avidly) become proficient with new user interfaces and electronics she comes across. Non-obvious aspects are still likely to remain beyond her, and it does not convey an understanding of the local printed language, if significantly deviated from common ones. She can often jury rig solutions with existing parts she didn't make herself, though such improvisations seldom last more than a few uses.
Combination Attack< Edge >: Blending her power with another's talent to create novel attacks.
Keeping with her theme of combining things that perhaps ought not to be, Nepgear is able to combine her power as a Goddess with another, willing sapient being. This allows them to temporarily access her faith reserves to further enhance their own capability, or vice versa, for Nepgear to borrow some aspect of their talents for her own attacks. The combination effectively becomes one action, consuming the full focus of both for the duration. There is also a high degree of trust involved, and this ability is typically reserved only for her closest friends.
Complications
Low Self-Confidence: Nepgear is prone to self-doubt and second guessing her actions.
Nepgear is prone to bouts of low confidence in herself, and a minor dose of Imposter Syndrome. Compared to her sister, whom she idolizes, it feels to her that she'll never be worthy of being a Goddess of Neptune. It doesn't keep her from trying her best, though when some antagonist drags out a 'do you really think you can stand against me?' stock line, she is the type to actually hesitate and start wondering. Due to the nature of her existence, bottoming out on self-esteem can have the physical effect of cutting her of from the faith of the people, though having allies around her makes her more resistant to such doubts.
Tech Fanatic: Her affinity for gadgets can also be a distraction.
Nepgear loves technology, especially consumer electronics and robots. When presented with the choice of the expediency of smashing a potentially harmful device, or taking longer to try to shut it down and leave it intact, she would tend to prefer the latter. As long as the situation isn't an immediate emergency, it is also possible to distract or even bribe her with some particularly rare or high tech gizmo. Anything appearing as a 'cool robot' will receive the benefit of the doubt from her until it makes an obviously aggressive action.
Digital Nature: Despite being a mortal being, she's vulnerable to digital afflictions.
Perhaps an after effect of the way she was born, and the nature of her world, Nepgear can seemingly catch computer viruses and similar malware much like a normal human might a cold. The effect may not be as absolute as it would against a real computer or machine, and the intended effect will likely not directly map. One common symptom is being rendered unable to access the faith of her nation for the duration of the illness, which eventually runs its course like any infectious sickness.
Slightly Dense: A lot of insinuation and subtlety will fly right over her head.
On the surface level, Nepgear seems fairly competent, like a hardworking, student council president type. However, she can be just as clueless as her sister Neptune, albeit in different ways. It may be necessary to present something to her in as blunt a way as possible, as she can blank on more subtle allusions. This can prove frustrating or embarassing when trying to describe something or settle on a plan of action.
Enabler: Her desire to make friends and stay on good sides makes her a bit of a pushover.
Nepgear absolutely treasures every friendship she has, and she is eager to please them and win their favor. Once she believes she is someone's friend, or meets someone that she desperately wants to befriend, she could be easily persuaded to act against her own interests as long as the request, on the surface, sounds reasonable. She will also be more willing to give second, third, and subsequent chances to someone that she thinks has a possibility of salvation, and will not hasten to judge harmful actions by those she is friendly with, reasoning that there must be an explanation for the behavior.
