Overview
Abandoned as a hatchling for being a runt, Lether was dumped down a city rain gutter with little expectation of survival. She thrived. In fact, she thrived so well that when she climbed out of the drainage sewers, she was taken in by a squad of down-on-their-luck kids and the city thieves' guild. That upbringing gave her the larcenous talents to live the life of a pickpocket and thief. ... Once they managed to socialize her properly, anyway. A little feral, with a love for shiny trinkets and an ingrained disdain for the law, Lether leads a life mainly about doing what she wants. However, beneath the rough and tumble and rapscallion tendencies of a street-smart rogue is a girl who simply wants to learn how to trust others and make some real friends.
Perks
Lizardfolk: Tough scaly hide, incredible swimmer, sharp teeth.
As a Lizardfolk, Lether has some advantages over the average human. Her hide is tough and scaly, acting as a natural layer of armor. It's not the best defense but it's better than nothing. She's an incredible swimmer and can fight up a strong current as well as hold her breath for up to 20 minutes. This is all topped off with her sharp teeth and incredibly powerful jaw allowing her to bite others with bone breaking force.
Feeding Frenzy< Edge >: Increase in strength and vigor when tasting blood.
By spending a point of Edge when Lether bites a foe she may enter a feeding frenzy. As soon as she tastes blood, Lether becomes more animalistic and feral for a very brief time, granting her increased strength, stamina, and pain resistance and enabling her to tackle, take down, and deathroll creatures larger than herself.
Rogue: Stealthy. Lock picking, climbing, pickpocketing.
Lether was trained on the streets of a big city to be a sneaky little thief and pickpocket. She can naturally move without making a sound, and become hard to track in shadows. She is trained and skilled in lock picking, trap disarming, pick pocketing, and even climbing walls for 'second story work'.
Stabbing U: Lether is really good with stabbing implements. Also cheap shots.
Lether is proficient with knives, daggers, and short swords and usually has several on her at all times. But she can really co-opt anything pointy to stab someone with as long as it's sturdy enough for a jabbing. She is also a competent knife thrower for more distance in a fight. This is coupled with cheap tactics in a fight allowing Lether to ambush foes unaware of her presence or distracted by others with sneak attacks for more devastating blows or bites.
Uncanny Dodge: Quick reflexes for damage mitigation.
Lether's reflexes are amazing. She can dodge flurries of blows as easy as breathing. When it comes to bigger things like explosions and fireballs, Lether still somehow manages to avoid the worst brunt of an assault with a mix of luck and quick thinking.
Street Smarts: City knowledge, shelter and safehouse finding, and information gathering.
Lether was raised on the harsh streets of a big city. Because of this when she is in an urban environment she knows things like where to find good shelter and cheap food, where other thieves hang out, and who would make a good mark. She's well versed in evading the law or gathering information via sneaking around and eavesdropping where she shouldn't be.
Daggers of Returning: Magical daggers, return to wielder after thrown.
Lether owns a pair of (obviously stolen) magical daggers on top of her huge knife collection. These enchanted daggers, after thrown, teleport back into either the hand or sheath of their wielder with a simple mental command. This returning property works as long as they and Lether are anywhere within the same world.
Complications
Shiny Gubbinz: Lether wants treasure.
Lether wants treasure. It's a simple fact of life. She may not be a dragon, but she DOES know that gold and trinkets and money and treasure are a form of wealth. And wealth means an easier life. Lether wants an easier life than robbing and mugging and stealing from people, so she does whatever she can to acquire wealth. ... This however can lead to problems when her greed based motivation can prompt her to mug the wrong person or go for treasure that should well enough be left behind due to dangerous traps or deadly monsters guarding it.
Trust Issues: Lether is slow to give her actual trust to anyone. Selfish as a result.
Due to being burned by her handlers repeatedly in her younger years, Lether is slow to trust others. She believes other people are also out for self gain and might use her for such purposes. As such she always views most anyone and everyone through a skeptical lense. As such Lether herself is not the most trustworthy person there is. As much as she would like an actual friend, she's more liable to try and swipe a piece of treasure before an ally can grab it, or hoard food and supplies out of sight of others, or even possibly just bail in the event she decides a situation is too dangerous for her.
Breaking The Law: Lether shuns notions of law enforcement and disrespects figures of authority.
Having spent a life as a street urchin rapscallion pickpocket, Lether distrusts law enforcement such as town guards and police, and actively will be disobedient or disrespectful to them when opportunity arises.
