Complications

[Expand]
Baymax: Hiro needs Baymax for a variety of different reasons.
Baymax exists as Hiro's surrogate brother at this time. Hiro loves and cares for Baymax in the same way that he does with any of his other family members and friends. Also, as a robot, Baymax is reprogrammable and can also suffer from a low battery at times. Without his suit, Baymax's normal form is durably delicate which could make him easy to harm. With Baymax being Hiro's primary source of combat, without him, Hiro could find himself in trouble.

In addition to the practical reasons that Hiro needs Baymax, there's also an emotional attachment that bonds the two of them. Baymax is the only thing left of his brother that Hiro has and he looks at Baymax like his family. Baymax gives Hiro the strength and inspiration he needs to follow his dreams and continue his superhero lifestyle.

Hiro considers himself to be a protector of Baymax, at least on a verbal level. He looks at Baymax as someone that needs to be taught and guided through his new life of friendship and heroics. Hiro will often go to great lengths to preserve Baymax and their bond makes them virtually inseparable. However, in the event that Hiro loses Baymax on a seemingly permanent basis, Hiro becomes less enthused about life. He becomes quiet and withdrawn, almost giving up on everything that he cares about. He becomes a shell of his former self until reunited with Baymax in a meaningful way.

Hiro relies heavily on Baymax both in and out of heroic costume. Without him, Hiro is at a loss.

The Code: Heroes Don't Kill. Heroes Help.
There's a no killing code that exists across the entire Big Hero 6 team. Hiro had to learn the hard way that hurting others is not always the way. Hiro's focal point in being a superhero is to save and help others in whatever way possible. Violence is not always the answer.
[Expand]
Pubescent Mood Swings: Hiro's a mood-driven teenager that acts before he thinks. All the time.
Hiro is still a teenager when all is said and done. He still suffers from mood swings and emotional sensitivity that could set him off in different ways and at different times. This may spark some points of brash and impulsive behavior which could always lead to bad things.
[Expand]
Ego: Too smart for his own good.
Hiro's been smarter than everyone he knows since he was an even younger child. This has pushed him towards developing and cultivating an ego that's borderline unhealthy. Not all the way into the realm of full on conceited narcissist, Hiro's ego is attached to his intelligence, inventions and creations for the most part. This has the potential of leading to any number of problems as in or out of his super suit.
