A low-technology, fantasy world. Plagued by the existence of demonic monsters called Yoma, for which a warrior caste known as Claymores were created to deal with.

Overview

A world with low technology and little in the way of social structure, outside of medieval/feudal communities. Generally, human establishments remain small, save for a couple larger and well-defended cities. The reason are a race of dangerous, demonic creatures called Yoma, who plague the large, island continent. They prey almost exclusively on humans, and are vastly superior in terms of durability, stamina, speed, and strength. They often infiltrate human settlements, eating one individual and taking their appearance so they can feast at their leisure. Locals thusly tend to be very wary of strangers. A group known as 'The Organization' has, for numerous generations, been fighting Yoma by creating a caste of female warriors called Claymores, by infusing humans with Yoma flesh. In so doing, these warriors can sense and effectively fight and kill Yoma. In return, they ask for payment. Anyone or any group unwilling or unable to pay is never helped again. Of course, Claymores are also constantly required to stay vigilent, that the use of their powers doesn't transform them into Yoma, in turn.
