Overview

The world of Drakan is a world full of conflict, strife, and war. From the very beginning evil attempted to claim the world for their own by attacking villages for plunder, bandits left unchecked on the roads, and no end in sight to the internal, along with external wars between the different races of Drakan.

However, with the Dragons and Mankind finding a means to create peace between one another, and using mystical arts to bind their souls together in a pact, they created a new order. An order known as "The Order Of The Flame". These brave men and women would go out on dragonback as knights to protect the lands from evil and try to unite all under one banner. However, not all would be so willing and thus the Dark Union was formed to clash with the Order Of The Flame.

This war would eventually see the Golden Age coming to an end as many, if not nearly all members of the Order Of The Flame was killed off, forcing the great Dragon Mother, Mala-Shea to place herself in a deep hibernation in another realm of existence, till such time that the Order, and the young dragon brood that remained could safely be reawaken.

It would take nearly 600 years for such a time to come. For the Dark Union is defeated, the great evil Desert Lords are pushed back, and mankind reaches out to Mala-Shea to reawaken. It is here that the Order Of The Flame rises from its ashes and begins to rebuild. To bring justice once more to that which may seem so lost and create a new legacy to be told, not only in the world of Drakan, but to the greater worlds beyond as they travel forth to make sure that darkness can not rise again.
Common Races

    * The Humans -
The humans of Drakan were at once at war with the dragons, till one of their tribes found a means to bring about peace, at last bringing about the Golden Age of humanity and the civilization that it would become. Humans are the most common and highest population of the races on Drakan, with the Grull being not far behind. Humans are known for constantly learning, using magic, creating enchantments, and always seeking to improve themselves and their society. However, not all humans get along, and some join bandit groups, along with even find means to take command of Grulls that are to dumb to know any better.

    * The Wartok -
The Wartok are a race known as "Orcs" or "Trolls" by the human race. They are large in stature, with deep brownish red to light reddish fur that covers almost their entire body. They have two toes and three fingers. Their rank can be determined by how finely crafted their armor and weapons are. Most Wartoks tend to have several Grull under their command.

    * The Grull -
The Grull are smaller than their Wartok overlords and are commonly known as "Orcs" by the human race. They have pig-like heads, with humanoid bodies. They are not overly intelligent and tend to be used as slave labor or general grunt forces to the Wartoks and other beast-men races. They also have use in magic on a very primitive level, and tend to stick with very simple weapons. Grulls also tend to do blood sacrifices for their religious rituals and are known for infighting if not kept in line.

    * Trogs -
Trogs are a species of amphibian frog humanoids that reside within the swamps. Most common are those that are green in color, with those that are reddish tending to be stronger but rarer. Leaders of Trog tribes tend to be seen in bluish hues. They are known to capture humans and use them as a food resource. They wear headdresses of feathers, and other tribal-like clothing. They like to use spears, blow darts, primitive magic, and their natural foot hook claw as weapons.

    * Half-Men -
Half-Men are monstrous humanoids that only a mother could love, from their tusks, to bull-like horns or spike ridges. The fur that partially covers their bodies, to maybe even scales, and other features that differ from each one. They are magically inept, but make up for it in their stature and power. They live in the frozen tundra of Drakan and have a low-tech society. They despise humans and are constantly picking fights with any local camps or towns.

    * The Desert Lords -
The Desert Lords are not native to Drakan, but from a parallel universe known as "Sassool". A demonic world that they rule over as "immortal" sorcerers. They have a cubical multi-faced floating head, over a humanoid body, and they levitate over the ground. They can use magic to disguise themselves as humans, and while they are ageless, they can be killed with proper tactics and even more powerful magic. With their floating city of Stratos destroyed and their own personal forces vanquished or scattered, they are looking for new ways to plot their revenge. Along with making use of the unsuspected to do so.

The Dragons

    The dragons of Drakan are an ancient race with a long life and rulers of the skies. Their power is renowned and they once had a long feud with the humans, until peace was found between them. They can breathe different elemental breaths and come in different shades of colors, along with some unique features from head fins, spikes, tail designs, and so on, but always with four legs and two wings.

Over time however, they have broken into two groups. The Elder Breed who maintained their intelligence and ability to speak the human tongue, who are slowly growing in numbers with their return. Then there are the ferals, who due to the dark magic used on them during the Dark Wars, have become nothing more than mindless beasts. The most common of these are known as "Blackwings". Dragons who have darkened scales, feathers along their body to up their wings, scythe front legs, and up to six glowing eyes along their muzzle. These dark mutations have also lost all ability to speak and are highly territorial.
