Overview
The result of two worlds that collided with one another on the meta-reality level, Digital Sorcery is a world of fantasy. Elves, dragons, goblins, and other typical fantasy beings work fantastic wonders with magic... all under the thumb of massive, world-spanning megacorporations. Wealth makes the world go round, here, with an oppressive oligarchical system keeping the masses under control with barely-sustainable lives, drowned in mystical escapist entertainment and mass-produced magic items that allow one to play in the astral plane.
Trade and immigration with other worlds is strictly monitored, but the megacorps have to allow some through, and mostly attempt to maintain connections with like-minded worlds. This has bred a lot of discontent, as such tight control means those who do slip through are all the more willing to start the rumblings of revolution.
Technology
This world is a fusion of a high-tech, cybernetics world and a high-fantasy realm. The fusion has resulted in things being a little strange. Many of the economic and beaurocratic systems remain very similar, but technology, of the most pure kind, has been left behind. Instead, magic takes the place in weird ways. It isn't a fusion of magic and technology, just something mystical that takes the same role as a piece of technology.
Cheap, inferior magical items are produced on assembly lines to create self-heating pots and pans, vision enhancing lenses, mana-propelled vehicles, and even crowns to upload your consciousness into astral space, where the mental landscape has been shaped into 'virtual' playgrounds and games. All under the control of massive corporate conglomerates that pull the strings behind the supposed governments.
