Overview

All things come to an end, all forms of life change or die out. It is the way of things.. and yet? Rarely, a second chance is granted. Enter the Ark Project, known to none of those who call Arks home. People across history awoken in one or another. Some give into survival of the fittest, others attempt to build something akin to the worlds they knew. Ever towering over them, a massive trio of intimidating Obelisks.

The inhabitants of Ark Ragnarok know a dreadful tale: ruins of what was clearly human civilizations litter it, fresher than expected. What happened here? Rare survivors speak of gods striking down their works, with few able to flee.

Now the tribes build once more, with the network linked to the World Tree. New Contaminants enter the Ark, and none know what the mysterious beings who made them may do. How will the various budding Tribes and civilizations handle such influx? Some of the survivors have good reason to worry. Only time will tell what the future holds for Ragnarok and the other Arks.

Some tribes have taken to engaging in trade, tourism, mercenary work, and organizing dino hunts for off-worlders. The world has only recently bloomed and the full effects are only starting to be felt by the locals. The real question is? How will whatever controls the Ark respond to it all, long term?
Obelisks

A trio of Obelisks tower into the skies of each and every Ark. Red, blue, and green. These allow Ark inhabitants to travel between Arks and access strange trials the overseers offer, for reasons that remain unknown.

Technology

Technology differs wildly amidst the Tribes, everything from Stone Age to works akin to twentieth century Earth - and oddities surpassing even that, a category known as Tek that runs on the mysterious Element material.

Life and Death

Ark natives have no idea how, but sometimes the dead return to them. They simply reappear somewhere ... though not always in a timely fashion. Overall this is rare, and clearly up to the whims of the gods (or whatever 'runs' the Ark).

Factions

The Einherjar

A Small tribe hailing from a northern cavern, lead by Jarl Bergfalk, who claims viking heritage. He's keenly aware of the dangers of direct conflict, seeking to avoid it if at all possible. The tribe focuses on quality craftsmanship and breeds small-to-mid creatures for labour and war. They're among the forefront of off-world tourism and hunt projects in exchange for odd and rare materials.

Tide Hunter Inc.

Lead by William Mason, 19th century English industrialist, this coastal-based seagoing tribe focus on exploration and mercenary services for needed resources. Seemingly keen to exploit the Ark's nigh-unlimited biological resources.

Unbroken

Lead by George Rogers, a slave-turned-bandit of the old American West, this small solitary tribe just wishes to live in peace. Though generally friendly to visitors who respect this wish of theirs, they're also infamous for ruthlessly blowing anything that seeks to invade or raid to kingdom come with their mastery of explosives.

The Warriors of Valhalla

A rumour, a wild tale told around campfires... right? Nope. They very much exist, and are armed with advanced technology. This mysterious group will manipulate the other tribes as it pleases, and hopes to find a way to cut off the Ark's connection to the World Tree.

Others

Ark: Ragnarok is vast and full of many other tribes. Some large, some small, and some have taken to it far better than the times they came from.
