Overview

This is a world populated entirely by anthropomorphic animals, at a medieval technology level. There is no magic as it's often understood in fantasy settings, just herbal remedies and the occasional prophetic vision brought about by heavy drug use... not that that stops superstitions from spreading like wildfire.

This specific iteration of the theme takes place during the novel "Mossflower", within the titular woodland and its surrounding countryside. Mossflower country is ruled by Tsarmina Greeneyes, a tyrannical and somewhat insane wildcat bent on enslaving every creature within her borders. She is resisted by the rebel group Corim, short for the Council of Resistance in Mossflower, led by representatives of each of Mossflower's principle races: Bella of Brockhall, a badger, Warthorn, the Skipper of Otters, the squirrelqueen Lady Amber, Foremole of the Moledeep moles, and finally, Martin the Warrior, a mouse from the Northlands with a personal grudge against Tsarmina.

This is the story of Redwall's founding, and how Martin became Mossflower's most enduring legend and revered historical figure. With the reforged sword of his father in hand, he leads the charge for freedom!
