Overview
Hailing from the far northern Land of Ice and Snow, Corvo Saltclaw captains the Terrible Omen as a self-styled pirate king, plying the coast west of Mossflower Wood. A cunning and greedy fox, his primary goal in life is to amass wealth beyond the dreams of avarice, and thereby spread his days in comfort and luxury. The surprisingly educated Covro uses his rapier wit to impress his crew and outsmart his enemies. Awfully amicable for vermin, he's easygoing and jovial as long as his pride isn't insulted. The "pirate king" is dangerously proud of his accomplishments. In battle he relies on a bullwhip, throwing knives, and a trident with equal skill; in a pinch, his teeth and claws.
Perks
Corsair: Covro wields a bullwhip, trident, and knives, plus teeth and claws.
As a corsair, weapons are an important part of Covro's life. His personal armaments consist of a bullwhip, a broken trident, and a brace of throwing knives. The bullwhip can be used to slash and grab at his foes, grab things they might be holding, or even restrain limbs if he has space to use it. He can hurl his throwing knives with pinpoint accuracy. Lastly, his trident is a versatile weapon, with one of its prongs purposefully snapped off to use it in tight spaces. He can use it for fighting and fishing alike. If he's desperate, he can also use his own teeth and claws, although he considers it an unrefined and barbaric way to fight.

Ill-Gotten Gains: Covro is very wealthy and he likes to flaunt it.
Covro is a successful pirate captain. Aside from having the crew and the ship to prove it, Covro is also a fantastically wealthy pirate. His ship is stuffed full of material resources of all kinds, from high end raw materials to luxury goods. His clothing is rich silk and leather, his buttons are gold, his bangles are silver, the gems studded in his ears are real, and more importantly, he eats like a king, and his good health reflects it. When it comes to pulling rare materials or uncommon luxury items out of a hat, Covro probably has it aboard his ship somewhere.

Old Salty Dog...Fox: Covro has a knack for navigation and sailing.
Covro wasn't born into the craft of sailing, but he did learn the rudiments for himself and improved on those skills. He has an intuition for sailing that periodically astonishes his crew. He's had many seasons of experience at handling or captaining ships, and he knows the details and the trade secrets back and forth. He has a marvelous knack for reading the weather and steering a galleon-sized ship.

The Terrible Omen: Covro captains a very nice pirate ship.
As a successful pirate captain, it stands to reason that Covro has a pirate ship to his name. His ship is a large galleon kept in impeccably seaworthy condition, with strong sails and sturdy timbers. While it can't do anything fancy like fly, it still gets him wherever he wants to go, provided a sea route exists between him and his destination. The ship is enormous even for a galleon, and most of that extra space serves as the cargo hold.

NPCs
Crew of the Terrible Omen< Basic E-Tier >: Covro's loyal crew of armed, expendable sea-vermin.
This motley collection of sailors are all unshakably loyal to their captain, chiefly because he consistently provides them with enough booty to keep them satisfied. Most of them are sea rats, in general cursed with a reputation of stupidity, simplicity, and insatiable greed. The reputation isn't entirely wrong. These make up the bulk of the crew, and they tend to be expendable. More valuable are the ferrets, weasels, and stoats that make up the higher echelons, which are smarter and stronger than their more numerous searat fellows. Every one of them is at least somewhat combat capable, and they wield all manner of melee weapons, mostly cutlasses and knives.

Vikar Bloodkeel< Named E-Tier >: Covro's enthusiastic, and mute, first mate and enforcer.
Serving as first mate aboard the Terrible Omen, Vikar Bloodkeel is Covro's trusted lieutenant, and also chief enforcer among the crew. A big burly ferret made mute by an injury, Vikar uses his uncanny silence to his advantage. Vikar is part enforcer and part bodyguard. When Covro needs to travel off the ship and onto dry land, Vikar is always there with him, shadowing the captain. Vikar is personally loyal to Covro, having been rescued by the fox.

Ripsnarl< Named E-Tier >: Covro's other enforcer and the Terrible Omen's bosun.
Ripsnarl is the weasel in charge of the Terrible Omen's condition and repairs, and he guards the ship's integrity like he would look after his own child. He knows if anything happens to the ship it'll be his head on a pike. Ferocious and able despite being stunted and small for his kind, Ripsnarl is a fierce combatant with his cutlass in hand, and especially if he feels "his" ship is threatened. He's unassuming and uneducated, but fantastically loyal to Covro; acknowledging the fox as superior.

Irontail< Named F-Tier >: Covro's chief cook and quartermaster.
Named as something of a sarcastic joke, Irontail actually has no tail, having lost it in battle many years ago. The fat and grizzled but shockingly agile Irontail is a splendid cook who can turn even the most measly ingredients into a meal fit for a king. More importantly, he knows how to work with the fancy foodstuffs that Covro insists on stealing, so he has some value to the captain. He's also an expert hand at brewing seaweed grog, which earns him the loyalty of the crew, and other vermin.

Complications
Don't Touch My Darling: Covro is overly possessive of his ship and his stuff.
The Terrible Omen is basically Covro's baby, and he doesn't like others laying grubby hands on it. Like a car enthusiast, he keeps his vehicle in absolutely mint condition, and anything that threatents that wonderful state will invoke his immediate and disproportionate wrath. Damage to his ship is one of the few things that can ruin Covro's composure and send him into an incoherent frothing rage. He loves his ship. His ship is his pride and joy. He's pretty serious about it!

Fit for a Pirate King: Covro just can't pass up a chance at treasure.
Whenever something fantastically expensive or rare comes along, Covro must have it. He simply must have it. He is a helpless slave to his greed and he will actively pursue anything that he thinks he's entitled to, even if it contradicts any and all of his short-term goals at the time. This might leave him high and dry if he disobeys allies or ignores objectives. Despite this, he doesn't do so with any malice; it's simply a part of his nature, as magpies steal shiny things.

Obsessively Clean: Covro is physically vain and doesn't like dirt.
Being albinistic, Covro is extremely sensitive about dirt on his person. He hates dirt, and he hates looking shabby or unrefined. He goes to absurd lengths to avoid dirt, although seawater doesn't bother him very much. If something involves dirt, he's likely to feign reasons to avoid getting involved, and if he's forced into a situation where he's going to get filthy, he tends to get carelessly angry about it.

Piratical Pride: Covro is psychologically vain and bristles at insults.
Covro is dignified and proud, and it doesn't take very much for him to feel like his pride has been needled. He is dangerously proud of his accomplishments and he takes poorly to insults and slander. When he riles at things like that, he tends to bite off more than he can chew, and being self-aware of that fault does absolutely nothing to curb it. Only luck has really kept him from getting himself killed just yet, but time will tell if that holds true in the World Tree, where the rules are very different from what he knows.
