Overview
Poppy is a Yordle, a race of fae creatures from the magical world of Runeterra. Coming up to only the waist of an adult human, one should still not underestimate her, as she has proven time and again throughout the centuries that she has strength and will far greater than her diminutive size would suggest. She bears the Hammer of Orlon, a legendary weapon from the founding of the nation of Demacia, given to her by Orlon himself on his deathbed. To this day, she seeks to fulfill his last wish by searching for the hammer's rightful wielder, the fabled Hero of Demacia who will keep the nation whole in times of darkness. She hasn't found this Hero yet, but until she does, she will continue to roam and render aid unto those in need, using the hammer to protect the weak... but she's not a hero, that's ridiculous. She's just a Yordle with a hammer.
Perks
Yordle: An unaging fae creature with inherent magic and enhanced senses.
Poppy is a Yordle, a race of magical fae creatures that typically reside in the spirit realm. They are practically ageless and able to survive things like being frozen in ice for millions of years, and possess greater reflexes than the average human as well as strength beyond what their tiny frames would suggest. They can see into the infrared spectrum and have an excellent sense of hearing, but poorer vision in the normal spectrum of light compared to humans. Finally, Yordles are very mentally hardy and difficult to manipulate under normal circumstances, but require more frequent positive social interaction than many other races in order to maintain their mental health.
Iron Ambassador: Incredibly strong and durable.
Poppy's physical strength surpasses the norm for her species by an extremely wide margin, not to mention a lot of other legendary figures in her world. She is capable of moving massive boulders with ease and her blows are not only earth-shattering, but can send foes flying like ragdolls through the air. Her resilience is similarly staggering, able to get up from things that would put most down for the count, further aided by her ability to erect a temporary magical barrier around herself.
Hammer of Orlon: A legendary warhammer that acts as a magic conduit. Tons of damage.
The Hammer of Orlon is a legendary weapon once owned by Orlon, the founder of the nation of Damacia. On his deathbed, Orlon entrusted Poppy with his hammer, claiming that it rightfully belonged to the Hero of Demacia who would keep the nation whole and lead it to glory, and to this day Poppy searches for the fabled Hero, not realizing that Orlon was referring to her. The hammer is practically indestructible, having suffered centuries of use, but its best attribute is acting as a conduit for Poppy's inherent magic, often used to devastating effect by imbuing its strikes with literally explosive force. She is especially fond of using it to strike the ground, causing it to erupt underneath her enemies' feet or create fissures to trip them up. She can also generate a gigantic magical construct in the hammer's image, but only long enough for a single strike.
Demacian Fighter: Skilled in the use of large, handheld, weight-based weapons and heavy armor.
As one of the original founders of the nation of Demacia, Poppy had a significant influence on its preferred fighting style. That is to say, she fights in heavy armor and with a weapon bigger than she is, something she has grown very accustomed to over the centuries. She can move surprisingly quickly considering this, however, and she makes excellent use of a buckler to further enhance her defense... when she isn't making unorthodox use of it as a projectile. There isn't a lot of finesse involved, but her skills still shouldn't be underestimated.
Blacksmithing: Used to be a blacksmith. Still has the skills. Not very imaginative.
Yordles are a very creative species, prone to taking up craftsmanship of some variety either as a hobby or a full-time job. Although she doesn't practice it nearly as much as she did in her younger days, Poppy is an experienced blacksmith able to forge weapons, armor, and other tools of high quality so long as she understands what she's making. She doesn't have much imagination though, so complex or heavily customized items are difficult at best for her. She also does not typically carry the tools necessary for blacksmithing, as it rarely comes up in the course of her quest. If you want something from her, you'll have to provide the tools, supplies, and forge, and it's unlikely you'll get anything fancy or ornate.
Glamour: Can use illusionary magic to resemble a short human. Usually doesn't bother.
Yordles long ago evolved a magical defense mechanism to escape predators and blend in with their surroundings: Illusion magic, or a "glamour", which allows them to resemble a being native to the area, generally a human, or it can simply cause them to subconsciously fade from a viewer's notice. The vast majority do not have conscious control over their glamour, and often don't even realize it's "on" unless pointed out by someone else, though they may drop it once brought to their attention, or it may drop on its own if they are completely at ease. Individuals who possess perceptive abilities beyond the norm can also see straight through the glamour without any difficulty. It is also worth noting that the glamour cannot appear larger or smaller than the Yordle themselves, and will always bear the same distinctive physical features such as clothing and hair. Basically, it only causes them to appear as a "humanized" (or insert species here) version of themselves.
Complications
Straightforward: Very direct thinker. Goes for the simplest solution, even if it's not the best.
Poppy is a very direct thinker, to put it mildly. While she is very intelligent, her imagination is limited when it comes to applying concepts like magic and technology, and her approach to problems is always the simplest and most straightforward one, which usually comes down to "smash it". She also has difficulty grasping more abstract ideas without a practical demonstration, and worst of all... she can't tell a joke to save her life.
Is That The Hero?: Suffers momentary lapses in initiative and judgment when others act heroically.
Poppy's quest to find the legendary Hero of Demacia is a noble one, but she has become somewhat singleminded in her pursuit of it. While she is quick to defend herself or others from unwarranted aggression, she is less quick to act when there is another person nearby who shows heroic qualities. Be it throwing themselves into the fray to protect someone, taking charge of a dangerous situation to save lives, or even just a well-known reputation for courage and selflessness, Poppy often becomes caught up in assessing their worthiness instead of acting right away to help. This does not last long, nor is it any sort of "paralysis", but it can and has allowed situations to worsen because of her lack of initiative.
Stubborn To A Fault: If you're waiting for her to give up, you might be here a while.
Poppy is a firm believer in the adage that one must finish what they start. Be it a quest, a fight, or anything else, she will stubbornly pursue it to the end, sometimes even beyond what most would consider reasonable. While she isn't likely to throw away her own life without good reason, it's notoriously difficult to get her to back down once she's set her mind on something.
