Overview

Lancelot, the Knight of the Lake, was a devout Knight of the Round Table. Wielding the fae sword Arondight, a counterpart to Excalibur, he was a prominent soldier in Camelot's forces. Skilled in all forms of combat, the once-respected Knight fell from grace and faded into the background of history. A knight of lordly caliber, famous for his charm as much as his skill, but now he is a Servant, the spirit of a Hero who left a legacy on his world. Summoned as a sword user, instead of being bound to a person, he serves a mysterious force behind the scenes of humanity. A young adult with plenty to prove, he leverages a Knight's pride with the search for atonement and humility. As a Saber, he is skilled with swords, and as a Knight, he is able to ride nearly anything skillfully. With a super attack called a Noble Phantasm, Lancelot can take care of himself, attack a single target for massive damage. His motivations, like his heart, are worn on his sleeve: he has a personal repentance to complete.

Perks

A Knight Does Not Die with Empty Hands< Edge-E >: Lancelot can use anything as a weapon that he sees as one.
As a legendary Knight and reknowned fighter, Lancelot is extremely skilled in the art of combat. With the skills and abilities to go toe to toe with nearly anyone, he is capable of defending himself in any situation, using anything he can conceive as a weapon. This is reflected in the item becoming one of his Noble Phantasms, powerful items possessed by legendary heroes. With an expenditure of Edge, he can even assume command over legendary weapons, exotic weapons that would require a specific wielder, and holy or demonic weapons that a human otherwise would not be able to use. From a tree branch to an orbital strike platform, Lancelot is frighteningly good at improvization and combat adaptability.

Arondight< Edge >: An arcane sword that cuts through anything. Bane of dragons.
A holy two-handed broadsword wielded by Lancelot that is the counterpart of King Arthur's Excalibur, capable of powerful attacks against a foe without breaking. As a Saber, and due to the legend in which Lancelot slew a dragon, Arondight deals additional damage to any dragon-like or dragon-aligned being, good or evil.It bears a similar design to that of Excalibur, carved with Fairy Letters to show that it was a Divine Construct not forged by mortal hands. Note that drawing this weapon seals A Knight Does Not Die with Empty Hands until the fight is over.

Magic Resistance: Shrug off minor effects, stronger against magical effects.
Lancelot is highly resistant to many magical effects. This doesn't make him immune to damage, it just helps blunt it, and allows him to shrug off weak magical effects like subtle curses or simple and weak attacks. Lancelot's magical resistance is quite strong for a Servant, but any dedicated mage capable of challenging him in the field can use magic strong enough to overcome it. It also does not hinder passive effects like that on an enchanted weapon, nor does it help him overcome magical protections like barriers or shield spells. His resistance only applies to magic used directly upon him.

Riding: Handling any rideable item with above average skill.
Lancelot, as a Heroic Spirit qualifying for the Rider class, is able to ride, drive, or pilot any basic vehicle or mount as if he was a master of it. As a Heroic Spirit, information given to him about the current era and technology would allow him to be summoned into a futuristic world and be just fine driving or flying. This does not mean he can pilot special craft, such as the Millenium Falcon, but it would allow him to pilot any old X-Wing, for example. Horses, cars, motorcyles; nothing will escape Lancelot's skills.

Knight of the Lake: Lancelot hides his stats normally, and can boost them one rank when he chooses.
With an otherworldly blessing from the Lady of the Lake, Lancelot has greater agility, endurance, and strength than normal. The blessing also prevents others from scrying his true strength, making him appear weaker than he really is to divinations or other supernatural means. Lastly, Lancelot can focus this magic, and temporarily boost a physical attribute when he needs to sharpen his agility to dodge incoming attacks better, the endurance to soak a crippling blow, or the raw physical strength to overcome a tough opponent.

Eternal Arms Mastery: Unrivaled fighting ability, even when mentally hindered.
Lancelot is the epitome of the stalwart warrior, having proven himself in many forms of combat in many situations. The skill prevents the degradation of his fighting skills, even under mental hindrances, as his mastership of the combat arts has reached the point of being unrivaled in his era. This has hardened his mind against mental effects, letting him shrug off such things as confusion much easier than others. Mental detriments of any sort are harder to hang upon Lancelot, and those that do manage to stick never last long enough to seriously hinder him in any discernable way when compared to someone of similar skills and abilities.

Independent Action EX: This Servant can exist without a Master.
As a Spirit summoned by the Counter Force, Lancelot is granted this skill innately by the essence of the world which protects humanity. If he ever takes a Master, this skill is Sealed until he is no longer serving a Master. It allows him to meet his mana needs for the body, skills, and abilities that he can use. However, even though this is a max Rank skill, this does not mean he can throw attacks around with reckless abandon. The Counter Force is how Lancelot replenishes his energy, because he has no Master to give him energy, and so he must be very careful with what he is given.

Complications

Loyalty to Royalty: Lancelot implicitly trusts any and all Royalty.
Due to both a lifetime of service and exposure to the ins and outs of Court, Lancelot carries with him an almost-impregnable trust in those of Royal blood or birth. Those Who Rule do so by divine right, and as such, they should not be questioned in anything but the most extreme circumstances. There are two classes of people: Royalty, and everyone else. Lancelot has lived his life as a Knight of the Round Table, serving the King of Camelot, and he has seen much of the beyond-the-scenes work that Royalty does. Having also been asked to carry out orders that he may not necessarily have understood, but known to be necessary for the Realm, has only further reinforced this in Lancelot.

Servant of the Counter Force: Defend the world of Fate from the evil forces attacking it.
The Counter Force of Earth and Humanity has revived Lancelot from the Throne of Heroes for a specific mission and purpose. He owes his current living existence to that force. He receives all of his Mana from the Counter Force, meaning that he can only go "all out" in a fight when the Counter Force permits it, and if he cannot reconcile what he is doing with what the Counter Force has brought him back to accomplish, he may find himself at a lack of Mana in a critical moment. To this end, Lancelot needs to gather allies, see if other Masters have moved into this world, and otherwise take actions that slow or stop the forces of evil from entering the world of Fate. Forming alliances with other worlds is not out of the question either, so long as the safety of the Fate world is paramount to all other concerns.

Knightly Virtues: Protect the weak and defend the Realm
Lancelot is a Knight of the Counter Force, and in life, he was a Knight of the Round Table of Camelot. As such, the concepts of honor and valor are near and dear to his heart. Lancelot sees chivalry as a noble concept of royal bearing, one that should spread throughout the realm. He sees such things as an unarmed opponent as something to be regarded carefully, as opposed to attacking with a weapon, and would likely take on an unarmed foe without weapons himself. He will be the first one to head into a rescue mission, be the tip of the spear, or otherwise lead the charge against Evil. If he gives his word sincerely, he will keep it, regardless of any peril that it may place him in to do so. How he appears as a Knight reflects upon the Realm that he serves, and as such, he will do everything that he can in order to uphold the pinnacle of Knightly Virtue.
