World Tree MUSH

At the Grotto

Mirage Mouse and Miwa meet for some R&R after the close escape from the cyberpunk city.
Character Pose
Miwa
Despite the unfortunate circumstances that lead to it, Miwa is happy to have Mirage staying with her as a guest while she hides out from the corporate security thugs that seem so hellbent on catching her. It's growing later in the morning and Miwa is not at the grotto for the moment as she headed out to get some breakfast for the pair. She soon returns though and surfaces in the grotto's entrance pool, hoisting up a bag and then pulling herself out as well. From the bag she pulls out a few waterproof containers, there were sausage egg and cheese sandwiches, an assortment of freshly picked fruit, and some malasadas in cinnamon sugar, and chocolate frosted varieties. "Breakfast." She announces with a smile, looking up at Mirage as she goes to her cooler and pulls out two bottles of pinap juice, tossing one to Mirage, then taking a one of the sandwiches for herself.
Mirage Mouse
By now, Miwa would know that Mirage sleeps late. She is a mouse, after all--she might even make a joke about being up all night scurrying about, looking for stuff to nibble on or steal--but right now she'd have brought in a lawnchair and set it out in the sand, just at the edge of where the surf was coming in--drinking out of a large carton of orange juice sitting in a cooler full of ice next to her. This doesn't mean her stomach wouldn't have been rumbling by the time Miwa got back with food--she hadn't bothered to think of breakfast, herself.

"Hunh? Wha--" Mirage pulled herself up, slipping off a pair of cheap 1-dollar black sunglasses. There were tourist shops everywhere around here, after all, and she had hit one before she'd gone dozing. She was out of her regular jumpsuit and boots, those were tucked elsewhere--in just a pair of swim trunks and a T-shirt with the words 'ALOLA' over a stylized cartoon portrait of the region itself, green and beige and sporting little volcanoes here and there in the appropriate places.

Right now Mirage had been woken up out of a half-dozing dream, which had apparently caused her adrenaline to race a bit--but she hadn't been able to recall why.
Miwa
"Oh, sorry, did I wake you?" Miwa apologizes, though she wonders how anyone could still be sleeping while laying on the beach in the morning Alolan sun. "Those sunglasses must really work good at blocking out the sun." She admits as she grins a bit at Mirage's outfit. "You really do look like a typical tourist here now, not that it's a bad thing. Anyway, you hungry? Hopefully it's still at least somewhat warm, tried to get back here as fast as I could."
Mirage Mouse
"What? no," it was unsure if Mirage was lying--she didn't usually deceive Miwa, or try to--but it was also unclear if she had bolted awake due to her, or some other reason.

"Oh, food," she could easily smell the treats Miwa had brought for her, looking down at her right hand--the fur encasing her arm and hand was wet, the foam cup she'd been drinking out of had fallen over as she dozed--she picked it back up and got the carton back out, refilling her glass.

"Oh, yeah--I think I'd like that babe," Mirage welcomed and gestured the Primarina closer. She'd started calling her things like that even without thinking about it, seemingly. She hadn't even been conscious that she was doing it, apparently. Who had she mind-dove that called people 'babe'??
Miwa
Miwa smirks a bit. "Alright, maybe you were just napping, but you're not going to fool me after that groggy response you just made." She says as she pushes the containers for the fruits and remaining sandwich toward Mirage before beginning to munch on her own. After taking a few bites and a swig of her juice, she looks up at Mirage again, blinking as the girl calls her 'babe' "Babe? Have you been hanging around the surfer crowds while I'm not around?" She asks with a chuckle before changing the subject. "So, have you been enjoying your stay so far? Anything you want to do today, or talk to me about?" She wonders as she leans against a smoothed rock while continuing to eat her breakfast.
Mirage Mouse
Mirage took the package of food and began nomphing on the breakfast sandwich gratefully--though wincing a bit as she stretched the nasty scratch she'd received. Her left cheek bore a rather large square band-aid that she had stuck over where the stray bullet had ceased to be quite so 'stray' and had glanced her--even as she had used her TK to push it away consciously. She had another one on her right thigh that was thankfully hidden from sight by her shorts. She slowed down and consciously began to eat slower, as to not aggravate the wound.

"Might be somebody I hate--err, something I ate," Mirage corrected herself, speaking with half a mouthful in the process, before clearing her throat.

"What do you mean? Is there something wrong?" hse asked, her reddish brown eyes peering over at Miwa.
Miwa
"Oh, so it's an artifact from one of your mind-dives then? Do you pick up quirks from people you dive into often? I feel like that would slowly drive me crazy." Miwa admits as she finishes her sandwich and begins munching on a pecha berry. "But no, nothing is wrong, I just want to make sure you're comfortable here and that you know if there is anything you need, all you have to do is ask. I still think a visit to the hospital for that bullet graze would be good, but it's you're choice, I won't force you."
Mirage Mouse
"Dunno what you mean," Mirage said as she chewed the foot, cracking the knuckles of her toes idly, with her tail lilting about next to her--making lines in the sand.

"Sometimes, people think it'd be so cool to hear other people's thoughts, until you don't want to hear them anymore but can't block them out," she had pretended not to know what Miwa was talking about first, but then replied to her second question. She washes the breakfast sandwich down with a good bit of orange juice before belching rather loudly--and perhaps surprisingly for a mouse. She was human-sized, mind--but she did stand at just 5-foot nothing, so she was smaller than most either way.

"Whoops, sorry," she grinned a little bit, brushing her cheeks with the back of her hand.

"Eh, maybe, not in the habit of going to hospitals, but I can disguise myself pretty easily..."
Miwa
Miwa nods, finishing her berry and grabbing a cinnamon malasada. "Sounds like a power that is a blessing and a curse at the same time. Going into my mind wasn't too bad though was it? I feel like I don't really have any major skeletons in the closet... that's how the phrase goes right?" She asks with a chuckle.

"Anyway, if you really don't like going to hospitals we can just stay here and take it easy, though another thought that comes to mind is I wonder if the healing potions for Pokemon would be at all effective on you. I could probably swing by the Pokemon Center and pick up one to try. But for now, laying in the sun here feels nice, I'm not sure I want to move, how do you feel?"

She asks as she looks over at Mouse just in time to see and hear her burp. She laughs. "My, what uncouth manners my guest shows." She says with a wink and a playful smirk. "Really I don't mind and no one else is around to complain."
Mirage Mouse
"Sometimes," she answers solemnly, chewing the last of her food before swallowing the last of her food. She shook her head slowly.

"No, it was nice in there," she replies enigmatically, perhaps--casually at that. Apparently it must be, with how much time she spends around the Primarina.

"I will, I might need a tetanus shot," Mir responded after a few moments--her eyes roving around the landscape, before returning to Miwa. Darting back, almost. What really went on inside the Mouse's head?

"Depends, do they work on humans too, or just Pokemon? My biology is mostly human," she gestured to herself, shrugging. "All of us are, even if we got animal parts--it's how it is in my world," she grinned a little.

"Sorry, forgot princess..." she closed her eyes as she grinned a bit, teasing Miwa back a bit.
Miwa
What really went on inside Mouse's head was anyones guess and certainly Miwa had no idea unless Mouse shared it with her. She smirks at Mirage's 'princess' comment. "Princess Miwa, hmm, a girl could get used to that. Maybe I'll go diving later and make a tiara out of pearls and sea shells." She says with a grin.

The question about healing though made her think more about the subject. "I don't really know. They seem to have something to dull the pain, and another component to accelerate healing, which is stronger depending on the grade of potion, of which there are several. But come to think about it, pretty sure the Pokemon Center also does have some things to treat humans for cases where a trainer is hurt as badly as their Pokemon. I suppose it's something I could ask about."
Mirage Mouse
"It'd suit you," Mirage agrees, not missing a beat with that.

"Mmphh, probably anesthetic and something to get rid of bacteria, course--I could potentially be allergic to whatever the chemicals they use in it--but I'm not terribly worried, I'll try it," she shrugged again with a little laugh--rolling the wrapper of the sandwich up as she finished it. She tossed it in her cooler.

"We'll see, I'm just tkaing a load off, for the moment--I might need stitches, and we can go in together to see what the doctor thinks, okay?" she said it seemingly more for Miwa's sake than her own. Soon enough her fur would grow back anyway over it--and there was things she could do about scarring too, if she wanted--back on her own world, anyway. Damn portals.
Miwa
Miwa nods, scooting over to be next to Mirage as she lazily lays in the sand with the sun warming her skin. "I'm just worried about you, you know? I know you're wrapped up in some questionable stuff, and while I may not agree with your way of life, it's your life, not mine, and I still like you as a friend. I assume you'd do the same for me if something bad happened to me. Honestly I thought something horrible was going to come out of an alley and drag me away when I was trying to find your apartment that one night."
Mirage Mouse
"I'm kind of a rough customer, if you hadn't noticed, you'll have to get used to that if you wanna hang around me--course you've already helped me twice, you're literally almost part of my 'gang' now, and I'm not sure you want that," Mirage shook her head a little.

"That happens, in that place--don't go there, it's dangerous," she replied finally, hearing her speak of her fears while roaming about cyberpunk city, there.

"Kind of surprised those guys found me that fast, must have gotten their attention when we destroyed that truck of theirs--trying to make up my mind if I wanna go back there to find out who was responsible," she left that there.
Miwa
"Part of your gang..." Miwa considers. "Well, if that means being your friend and helping you when you get into tough situations, then sure. But as for Cyberpunk city, I certainly won't go there alone anymore, unless you're meeting me at the vine portal. I'm not sure I want to think about the kinds of stuff that happen in the shadows in that city, would probably give me nightmares." She admits with a shudder.

"As for those guys who blew your wall off, yeah, they seem to be serious business, if you do go back to find out who's behind it, please promise me you won't go by yourself."
Mirage Mouse
"I... underestimated them, I had a hideout going with a lot of loot in there--pretty srue it's all shot to shit or confiscated by now, so eh, kind of a loss--but yeah, don't go there alone anymore," Mirage nodded.

"As for the rest of things, I'm gonna try and keep you out of stuff unless you absolutely feel the need to try and bail me out of something, okay?" she seems to be concerned, at least.

"They tried to blow my head off too, but eh--I think they're... all washed up by now, eh? Miss scrubbing bubbles?" she reached over and gave Miwa a teasing poke on the shoulder with a short-clawed finger, grinning. It was a pretty bad pun, to be sure.
Miwa
Miwa nods. "I won't, I promise, and I appreciate you not wanting to get me wrapped up in all your stuff, but I hope if you need my help you wouldn't hesitate to contact me." She says with a smile, she really did appreciate Mirage's concern for her safety. "They really did try to blow your head off, good thing you can psyionically push the bullets away from you somewhat or you'd have a lot more than a gash on your cheek. In hindsight I can understand your concern for me, if any of those men had tried to shoot at me, well, I'm not sure my scrubbing bubbles can stop a bullet." She says with a dry chuckle as she reciprocates the poke with a pat of her flipper on Mirage's back.
Mirage Mouse
"I thought I could better than that--but I think I got too cocky," Mirage admitted, sighing a little, taking another drink of her orange juice.

"I liked the ice techniques you had, you seem to be able to protect yourself alright, but yeah--I need to be more careful next time, so--" Mirage pulled herself up, her bare feet settling into the soft sand.

"I suppose we should get this looked at, at the pokemon center, you said?" she dumped out her mostly empty already drink and tossed the cup into the cooler, taking the handle and lifting it up.
