Overview
A hero summoned by the gods from her original world to fight in their war for them, Mau was the only one they could find to battle Dommon, the god of destruction and chaos, and his hundred Demon Lords. Forced to reincarnate a hundred times to fight them all, Mau retains all her skills and memories of past lives, making her the most potent sword wielder in her world hands down. Capable of using elemental magic to bolster her offense, she cuts to the heart of matters with efficiency and brutal grace. But under the facade of a lazy, sleepy, catgirl is the a tired soul who wants nothing more than to finally put down their sword and find peace. Or at least duck out from under the noses of her heavenly bosses that demand she deal with their problems for them.
Perks
Catgirl: Not human. Night sight, enhanced senses and agility.
Mau is a catgirl demi-human. This comes with a few bonuses and a few drawbacks. For one, she has keen sight in darkness. Her sense of smell is also much more sensitive than a humans. Most importantly she is much more agile than the average human: she can perform feats such as sprinting in bursts at olympian speeds, jump great heights and distances, run along walls, among other feats of agility. However there are drawbacks to being catgirl... Mau is incredibly lazy, sleeps a lot, susceptible to catnip, and can actually be completely stopped if someone scruffs her by the back of the neck.
Sword Mastery: Legendary skill with swords.
Mau is, hands down, the most potent sword fighter of her world. When it comes to bladed weapons such as daggers, dirks, short swords, longswords, and greatswords, there is not a single soul on Mau's world of origin that can even dream to match her. This is largely cheating because she remembers all her sword skills from all her past lives and retains the knowledge of countless stances, styles, and special moves. With a sword in her hand, Mau is on par with a force of nature, able to take on single opponents as easily as she can groups of foes.
Elemental Magic: Offensive magic spells of the four elements.
Mau is capable of using offensive magic to bolster her fighting skills. Her spells are limited to the four elements of Fire, Earth, Wind, and Water. From simple firebolts to torrents of water or cutting winds, or even powerful fireballs, Mau wields her magic with brute effective force more than finesse, and can only use such spells for offensive purposes.
The Hero's Blade: Mythical holy sword forged by the gods. Effective against demons and undead.
A legendary longsword forged by the gods to help Mau on her quest, the sword of the hero is unbreakable, mystically sharp, and incredibly effective against undead and demons due to its holy make.
Tracking: Mau can reliably hunt in most mundane environs. She can also track people down.
Mau has taught herself how to hunt and she can hunt very well. She can always reasonably find food or drinking water when searching in most earth-like environments. She can also track animals or people with relative ease in both the wilds and in cities.
Complications
Adventurer: Always looking for work, jobs, or fights to be had.
On her quest to grow strong enough to fight the Demon Lords of her world, Mau took on every hunting request, kill order, or even fetch quest that she could. Old habits die hard, and even with the Hundredth Demon Lord dead, Mau continues to live as an adventurer, seeking out adventure anywhere she can, joining any guilds she can across worlds, and even busybodying her nosey self into other people's matters to find work or something to do just to kill some time.
Lazy: Mau doesn't want to do anything unless she absolutely has to.
Mau is lazy. More often than not she just wants to nap or chill out. This is not an option most of the time, and it sure can be an annoying hindrance for Mau's allies when they need to travel, or gear up for a fight, or do almost anything, only to find Mau trying to sneak off to take a nap. In general, unless really pushed by others around her, Mau will put forth minimal effort into everything she does.
Is Catte: Mau struggles to resist feline instincts. Like chasing, pushing, and hiding.
Mau struggles to balance her feline instincts in contrast to her human side at times. If she isn't paying attention she will do very cat-like things, such absentmindedly following moving objects or lights, hiding and curling up in a small space, or worse yet, pushing expensive potions or drinks off of tables and counters. She has to actively repress these urges so a distracted Mau can lead to quite a lot of damage.
Just Hero Things: Mau is pretty meticulous about her heroic reputation.
Mau may not think of herself as a hero, but does believe that she has a reputation to uphold, at the very least. Mau will do her best to appear in the brightest light possible when visiting towns and cities. She wants people to believe in her and see her as someone who can be depended on to solve their problems. If she thinks helping someone out or performing some task will bolster her reputation, she'll probably do it.
Irreverent: Mau holds zero love for divine figures and does not respect gods very much.
Because the gods of her world summoned Mau by *hitting her with a truck* and then ordered her to kill 100 guys, Mau does not exactly view the divine with much respect. In fact she barely trusts anyone or anything that identifies as divine or godly, and believes they usually have some agenda up her sleeve. As such, Mau generally openly and flagrantly disrespects most religions whenever she thinks she can get away with it, and she will *absolutely* backtalk to a god if given the opportunity to speak with them.
