Overview
Once an aspiring theater student, Leo was plucked from the reality of college life and into the insanity of the mystical tyrants known as the True Fae. Soul hewn by the Thorns of the Hedge, he was changed into something no longer fully human. His captor favored mythical beasts and desired entertainment, thus transforming him into a chimera of multiple animals. Eventually, he was able to recall memories of his own identity to escape. His former captor had also gifted him with superhuman dexterity and the ability to defy physics. He drifted for a while, until he realized his mission. Fashioning himself into a flamboyant and exotic entertainer and arming himself with magical weapons, he vowed to use his magical healing abilities for the good of others, to inspire hope and to realize their own dreams untainted by the hands of evil.
Perks
Arcadian Body: Supernatural dexterity and grace. Beauty AND the Beast.
Leo is a Changeling, made into a Beast Seeming by his captor, more precisely a Chimera of several different species. These attributes grant him superhuman balance, senses and dexterity. The eyes and fangs of a cat, ears of a bat, draconic tail (for balance!) and talon-like nails. While the gifts are great, the instincts of a predator sometimes invade his mind and in some cases intellectual studies and tasks can be impeded, such is their curse.
Performer: From theater to nightclubs, he is experienced. It's Showtime!
Coming from a theater student degree, Leo adapted his own acting abilities to better aid himself and others. He decided to rework his old career into something different--something... beautiful. Through rigorous training Leo was able to craft himself into a formidable presence on stage, utilizing his own natural charisma and supernatural abilities. He specializes in singing, dancing, flashy and flamboyant outfits, costumes and is also an accomplished Drag Artist. He can do all sorts of entertainment--from stand up comedy, classic music to the latest hits.
Hedgespun: A magical assault rifle and armored cloak.
Hedgespun are weapons and armor made of fae materials gathered from the hedge or Arcadia. Leo himself is in possession of an old Soviet-Era assault rifle which has its magazine replaced with a crystal vial feeding it Glamour, allowing it to fire bullets endlessly, never needing to be reloaded. For fae armor, he owns a Briar Wolf fur cloak which is supernaturally strong and protects him from both harm and the cold.
Healer: Magical healing ability combined with first aid.
As a Spring Courtier, Leo is gifted with spells that allow him to heal grievous injuries by harnessing life energy. By laying on hands or directly energy into a target, he can mend injuries that would otherwise spell certain death. He is also trained in the more mundane art of first aid for when his energy reserves are low and can apply both given time.
Tokens: Granting objects enchantments that echo his power.
As a Changeling, Leo is able to infuse glamour into otherwise mundane objects to grant them magical effects. The effects range from those that heal to performance enhancing. Such as charging a bottle of water to heal wounds, or granting a pair of shoes the ability to allow its owner to dance. However the wily ways of the fae extend to their source of power and seek to warp or pervert an object's function. For example, the drink that heals wounds may dye the user's hair or eye color temporarily, or the red shoes of dancing may not want to let their owner stop once they've started. Think slight 'monkey's paw' style side-effects.
Separation: Phasing through solid matter to escape bond and jails.
Some fae eschew the laws of physics, and so does Leo. With this magic he is able to free himself from bonds and jail cells as well as walk weightlessly across sheer surfaces, like ice, or a clothesline. It also reduces harm from falling by casting it. He can also call upon it to gift him with enhanced dexterity for a limited time, making him fast enough to dodge bullets.
Fang and Talon: Night vision of a cat and echolocation of bat
Owing to his Beast characteristics, Leo is able to give himself the senses of animals via calling upon magical pacts made with members of those species in the past. In this case, a cat's night vision and a bat's echolocation.
Vainglory: Magic to enhance charisma and beguile others.
The peculiar talent of the Fairest is to appear important, or give the ability to give splendid performances. Additionally, this magic also gives the fae the ability to appear fantastic and impressive to normal mortals, that being regular people--to awe and inspire with their true form.
Combat Marksmanship: Firearms training and upkeep.
Despite his more benign pursuits, one of Leo's hobbies as a human was visiting gun ranges and brushing up on their care and application. As a Changeling, his senses and ability to shoot have increased ten-fold into superhuman ranges. While not a perfect marksman by far, his ability to handle a gun far outstrips that of a mortal.
Complications
Glamour: The Lost derive power from human emotions and dreams. Without it, they die.
Glamour is a substance similar to chi or mana that humans exude passively when they feel certain strong emotions, such as fear, anger, sorrow or desire. Changelings feed on this substance and require it along with food and water and also make use it for their spells. The emotion that Leo is attuned to specifically is passion, or desire--for things one enjoys, or how strongly they feel about something or someone. He normally likes to encourage passion in others, but doubly so because he feeds on the glamour others produce by experiencing passion. Thus, if he is deprived of human contact for too long, he will grow weak.
Vain: They're Beauty AND the Beast, just don't hate, or else.
The path to recovery for Leo was not an easy one. His old life torn, his body changed forever--he went through a period that is not unheard for his kind. However, he quickly discovered how to use his new self and what he had lost as a weapon. He took his new exotic appearance and supernatural abilities from a curse or aberration and instead changed it into a kind of armor. He was not a freak, rather an exotic and beautiful thing that demanded to be called such. While he is now an even more brave, caring and compassionate sort than he was before, due to his experiences, he is not without a somewhat sizeable ego. He is not above being catty or nasty if someone insults his appearance or act, within reason. Comparing him to a sideshow or circus act however is definitely grounds to get on his bad side.
Former Slave: Fear of zoos and imprisonment. The bars are closing in...
Every member of The Lost live in fear of being recaptured again, if not by their former captors then potentially by a host of others, as they are rare and exotic. Lost usually despise traffickers and slave-owners and the concept of slavery in any form, even if symbolic or playful. Leo in general cannot abide by sapient creatures being held for any reason against their will and will try to help or free them. To be imprisoned is worse than execution for a Lost, so it is difficult to get them to willingly abide by being put behind bars or worse in a literal cage. Leo in particular avoids zoos and cages, as they remind him subconsciously of his former captor's lair.
