Overview
Aurelia Argent was transformed by Atlantean magic into what can only be called a magical girl. Armed with a magic sword, an extra-dimensonal pocket, fearsome magical regeneration, sorcerous control of metal, and her transforming battle cat, she tries her best to balance her new role as a protector of her sleepy suburban town and high-school. It doesn't help that her guide/mentor has spent a few thousand years being a ghost or that her world has recently been opened up to traffic from the other worlds on the World Tree. Furthermore, she's having to deal with the death of her family and their replacement with magical simulacra as well as the fact that the family cat was a magical guardian beast all along. Still, Aurelia is trying to make the best of the chaos she finds herself in.
Perks
Atlantean Mageblade: A magical shortsword that can ward against minor magic attacks.
A precision weapon resembling a gladius when not wielded by a magic-user. When wielded by a magic-user, the blade appears to be one solid diamond and the handle is a reddish gold material. Its magical properties are that it has a tendency to strike weak points in armor and can somewhat ward against magic attacks. It is linked to Aurelia and can be called back to her hand if it is seperated from her somehow.
Hammerspace: A non-space Aurelia can store and retrieve objects from.
Possessing an extra-dimensional space of moderate capacity, Aurelia can store anything she can lift, though anything larger than a sword requires magic energy commensurate with the larger size of the item. Typically Aurelia keeps metal tools and throwing knives she's crafted with her magic in it, along with snacks, drinks, spare clothes, and hygiene supplies. The largest object Aurelia has been able to put into her hammerspace is a comfy futon, and that was after emptying everything else out first.
Regeneration< Edge >: Aurelia heals extremely quickly thanks to her magic powers.
While she does heal quicker than is normal for a maho, Aurelia must channel her magic to heal herself at truly amazing rates. Normally the superficial wounds such as bruising and shallow cuts will heal as one is watching with deeper wounds taking more time. But with a boost of magic even the most severe of wounds will begin to heal before one's eyes.
Alter Metal< Edge >: Aurelia is able to shape and alter the properties of metals.
Currently the most difficult magic Aurelia can perform is altering the properties of metal. In simpler terms this means transmuting one metal into another or making alloys (which can be impossible or not). Aurelia can't radically alter the inherent properties of metals at the moment, such as making something superconductive. The simplest, but still trying for Aurelia, application of this type of magic is reshaping existing metal into new forms (This particular application use doesn't require Edge).
Maho Form: Aurelia transforms into a more capable magic-wielding version of herself.
In order to access most of her magic powers, Aurelia has to transform into her maho form, complete with an embarassing costume. In spite of the costume, she is granted supernatural capablities and a font of magical energy. Transformation takes her but a moment compared to the elaborate song and dance rituals of other maho. She is called Metallia Gold in this form. Becoming her normal self also only takes but a moment, letting her transform at will.
Sense Metal: Aurelia can use magic to sense where metals are and in what quantities.
The most basic ability for Aurelia is the ability to sense metals. This means quantities and what kind in addition to the direction these are located. Currently she's only able to extend this magical sense in about 10 meters any direction. The smaller the amount of metal, the harder it is for her to sense and or identify it.
Control Metal: Aurelia can use her magic to control metal objects.
As long as Aurelia is able to sense a metal, she can exert magical control over it. This is more like she can move or manipulate metal without touching it, such as magically ripping a gun out of somebody's hands or crumpling a metal sheet. Larger objects and fine control are more difficult for her. She could hypothetically use magic pick a lock but it'd take so long that she'd be better off ripping the entire lock out of the door.
NPCs
Zero< Named Edge D-Tier >: Aurelia's cat familiar who transforms into a huge metal cat for battle.
Once thought by Aurelia to be just the family house cat, Zero turned out to be a magical beast connected to the gladius that was the family heirloom. Zero typically gives Aurelia advice on the hidden dangers of the supernatural world she finds herself in now, but can transform into a massive metal smilodon for short bursts of about a minute. Typically Zero only does so if Aurelia is in way over her head.
Complications
Fake Family: Her family was replaced by magical simulacra...
The very event that caused Aurelia to become a maho also involved her family dying from a monster created by the Obsidian Cabal. Although Orania used her own considerable magic to create simulacra of Aurelia's mother, father, and older sister, Aurelia is having to constantly tell them how to behave more naturally. It would be funny if the simulacra weren't supposed to be hiding the fact that they're not real people.
Orania Wintros: Aurelia's long dead mentor and superior in the Beacon Society.
The creator of Aurelia's Atlantean mageblade (and other magic weapons) and Aurelia's immediate superior in the Beacon Society, Orania Wintros has been a ghost for about 7,000 years. She has little conception of what life is like for a teenager in the 21st century, and thus gives Aurelia a lot of bad advice or misunderstands what Aurelia is talking about. Orania also makes demands on Aurelia's time, usually with Society business like fighting monsters or ruining a local Trimegustus' plot. Usually when it's inconvenient for Aurelia. Sometimes Orania demands Aurelia teach her about some modern innovation, forgetting that her underling is still in high school.
Secret Identity: People aren't supposed to know that Aurelia is a maho.
As a general rule, people are not supposed to know that Metallia Gold and Aurelia Argent are one and the same. Her (fake) family knows as a matter of course, but they try to keep the secret. There's definitely a lot of lying from Aurelia to cover for her supernatural activities, but the hardest part for her is figuring out how to create an in-costume persona. That is, she acts much like she would when not in-costume, which makes it potentially easier for people who meet both Aurelia and Metallia Gold to put two and two together. She also has to not be publicly when she changes; that would be a dead give-away.
World Turned Upside-Down: Aurelia finds herself hesitating from all the changes in her life.
Aurelia second-guesses herself a lot as a result of being thrust into a secret war between three magical societies. The influx of people and trade from the World Tree adds to the uncertainty, as she can't always tell if a weird happening is something she needs to respond to or not. Due to her friendly nature she tries to err on the side of caution, which causes her problems if she's misread the situation.
