Overview
Scavenger was banished from her community for being infected with Oripathy, an ultimately-fatal condition caused by overexposure to Originium, a mineral substance of her world. She worked as a mercenary for criminals and lowlifes, and earned a reputation for being a very efficient 'cleaner' and earned the moniker of 'Scavenger' due to the base nature of her work. Scavenger is a Zalak, a subspecies of Ancients that show rodent features, notably rat or mouse ears and tails. Due to her exile and her often solo operations, she prefers solitude and rarely engages with other Operators unless required to by a mission. She is a member of S.W.E.E.P. an internal defense affairs division meant to protect Rhodes Island from spies, saboteurs and turncoats.
Perks
Vanguard Operator: Rapidly erecting makeshift defenses and scavenging resources
Vanguard Operators tend to be the first in, and the last out of a combat zone. They are tasked with setting up preliminary defenses and retrieving information and material after a battle. Scavenger is very well versed in 'combat salvaging' and can identify interesting or useful items at a glance, taking important items off of defeated opponents.
S.W.E.E.P.: Scouting, Stealth, Information Gathering
Scavenger is an agent for Rhodes Island's internal affairs group. She is trained in stealth infiltration, passive and active information gathering techniques, such as eavesdropping and planting small devices on people without them knowing, and general scouting and tracking techniques in the field.
Cleaver Combat: A very large sharp blade.
Scavenger, contrary to most 'high speed' operators, has mastered a very large and heavy weapon. A Buster Blade. This weapon is increadibly heavy and often used by fighters using a support exoframe.
Strength: Deceptively strong for the light frame
Scavenger is deceptively strong for her size, able to lift about double her own bodyweight with little strain. This is in part due to her Oripathy infection. Artes are powered by Originium, and Scavenger possesses a passive Arte that bolsters her physical might.
Complications
Loner: "Get your job done and stop talking to me."
Scavenger doesn't like people. In fact she could be said to hate people. She much prefers the dark corners, the hidden nooks and distant assignments that take her far away from contact with others. Being forced into groups of more than a couple of other sophants makes her anxious and agitated. Doing so brings her abrasive nature to the fore as a defensive mechanism.
Combative Attitude: "What do you want? Go away and leave me alone before I get angry."
Oripathy Infection takes many forms, and varies from person to person. Scavenger's infection is mostly internal, and unfortunately around the brain. This causes personality shifts and is likely one large reason for her exile from her clan. She's abrasive, rude and more than willing to pick a fight with someone over any perceived slight, about her status as an Infected, or not.
Unsavory Techniques: "I get the job done. What? Don't like how I did it?"
Scavenger is used to doing things her way. She lacks patience to wring information out of an interrogation target, and is often very curt and tactless in conversation. This is especially harmful when time is short on a problem and the need for efficient movement and action drive her to take the 'shortest route' to the goal. Often this causes problems in the short and long-term.
